Update [Mon 9th Jan, 2023 14:15 GMT]: Fasten your seat belts! (Sorry, we wanted to keep that slogan). Temtem’s version 1.2.1 patch is now ready for download on Switch.
As promised last week, Crema has released a patch that will bring multiple improvements to the game, including adjusting the idle camera, adding new music, in-battle chat, and more!
Here are the full patch notes straight from the Crema’s website!
Patch 1.2.1, January 9, 2023
Important Notice
- We had to delete all Showdown codes, except for eSports, due to a data conflict. Your teams are not affected, you will just have to generate new code and, if you have used or published it somewhere, replace it with a new one.
- Aqua Bullet Hell is accidentally removed from your Umishi and Ukama, but you will have an empty technique slot and ABH will be in your learned techniques, so you can relearn it immediately. We apologize for the inconvenience!
New things
- We adjusted inactive battle cameras following community feedback:
- To reduce motion sickness for some players, we’ve slowed down all camera movements to 1/3 of their original movement speed.
- It will also trigger after 12 seconds of inactivity, as opposed to the previous 5 second threshold. This will make them far less present.
- In the specific case of Koish fishing, we’ve removed most of the camera angles so that only cameras that focus on Koish patterns appear. We have also developed some new cameras specifically for this activity that will make pattern and color recognition easier.
- We know inactive cameras have caused problems for some of our players. Before we go through disabling them, which would mean we stop receiving feedback and iterating on the feature, we’d like to push these changes to improve the main issues the cameras have had. We believe inactive cameras add variety and richness to the game, so we’d rather polish them until everyone is happy than disable them without giving them a chance to be good.
- We added some performance improvements to the Switch version. These improvements will be of great help with the current crashes the console is facing. But we’re not done yet, and we’ll be adding more performance improvements for him in future patches.
- The Tem Rename Voucher is no longer automatically used when renaming a Temtem. Players will now always have the option to pay for a name change with Pansuns instead.
- Players will now also be able to use Fruit Blender with Tems in the Temdeck, not just those in the squad.
- Fruit Blender will now show how the stats will change based on the selected TVs.
- Showdown Temtem will now always start with its SV value of 50, instead of 1 by default.
- We’ve added rarity indicators to customization items, such as emotes, loading screens, battle intros, end of battle, and end of battle music.
- The game will now show the gamepad buttons for each action when you press a modifier (a button that shows a set of hotkeys) in combat.
- We added new notifications for the Trading House: when you sell something and when the auction ends without selling an item/Topic.
- When you enter a maximum quantity in one of the advanced Temdeck and Trade House filter options, 0 will automatically be selected as the minimum quantity.
- Added more information to the win screen at the end of a ranked match in case of a win because the opponent concedes or in case of a tie.
- Added a shiny effect to claimable event items, the same effect used in the Tamer Pass.
- We’ve made some improvements to text input in some user interfaces, so it’s easier to understand if the text is invalid for any reason.
- We’ve made some performance improvements to the game’s UI.

Original article [Wed 4th Jan, 2023 12:30 GMT] Last year’s Switch port of the Pokémon-like the creature catcher/fighter Temtem may not have taken over the world as quickly as some expected, but it’s fair to say that the team at Crema is working hard to consistently bring improvements to the game (thanks, Switch to Nintendo).
This progressive eye continues into the New Year as the developer has announced that a small update will be coming to the game next week (January 9) and will focus on patching some of the issues created by the addition of ver.1.2. These issues included Switch memory issues and game crashes, among others, so it’s good to see the team working on a solution.
While we don’t yet have the full patch notes for this update, the tweet above outlines some of the issues that will be targeted, including the aforementioned crashes and changes made to the game’s inactive camera.
We’ll be sure to bring you all the details of this version 1.2.1 update as soon as the notes are available in the coming week.
