Since the game launched about 4 years ago, Tetris 99 has held Maximus Cup events from time to time. This usually happens to celebrate some first-party content that recently launched on the Nintendo Switch, usually a game, and the theme you can unlock during the event is usually based on the first-party content.
The last one happened in December, but that’s about to change. Nintendo announced tonight the 32nd Tetris 99 Maximus, which will feature the Fire Emblem Engage theme. The Maximus Cup takes place this weekend. The announcement tweet is below.
