WitchSpring R is moving from Steam to consoles, including the Switch, later this year. On August 29you’ll be able to join the witch Pieberry as she travels through the magical world in this adorable-looking turn-based RPG.

KiwiWalks remake WitchSpring, originally a mobile game, was released on Steam last September, and the fan reception has been great. Sitting at Extremely Positive with 4,486, fans praised the combat, story, characters and variety of gameplay systems on offer. The Switch connection was announced during Japan’s Indie World Showcase at the end of 2023.

That’s right, this isn’t only A story-based RPG with your traditional turn-based combat. As Pieberry, you can craft potions, collect items, and train monsters to fight alongside you. But even with the multitude of systems in play, the combat is still the highlight.

Pieberry can prepare for combat by training, which will give her new and upgraded spells and skills. When you find yourself in actual combat, you’ll need to use everything in her gear — as well as any pets she’s collected — to achieve victory. Enemies are encountered by viewing the icon on the field, and each battle will only grant experience once. This allows you to study each fight before you dive in and give it your all.

It can be said that there is many takes place in WitchSpring R, but the game can last as long as you like. While we’ve seen some say they’ve played the game in less than 30 hours, others have played more than 50 hours. Music to everyone’s ears, then.

If that doesn’t sound enticing enough, WitchSpring R is also launching physically at various retailers worldwide. You can just grab the standard edition, or if you’re really pumped, the collector’s edition will get you a Pieberry figure and art book, exclusive concept art, a soundtrack, and a new DLC costume in the Silver Rose set.

However, if you just want to grab the game itself, pre-orders will also reward you with the Black Pearl Set costume. You can check all pre-order options on the game’s official page or switch to eShop.
