Hello Games is gearing up to launch No Man’s Sky’s third major update of the year, ‘Adrift’. While the previous patches were all about adding more, this one takes things back.
In ‘Adrift’ the universe is abandoned. There are no other forms of life – say goodbye to shopping, commerce and shortcuts – and only the echoes of a long-gone civilization remain. Oh, and we should also mention that the number of sandflies has increased, so be careful when walking around the desert planets.
The update adds a new tug ship, the Iron Vulture, to give you some security on your travels, but other than that, you’re on your own. Full ‘Adrift’ update patch notes can be found at No Man’s Sky website.
It looks like an interesting take on survival game elements, one that takes the structure back to its roots and throws in a few creepy crawlies to keep things interesting. The update should be rolling out today, but keep in mind that previous patches took a bit longer to hit the Switch, so be on the lookout in the coming days.
