As beautiful as Hyrule is, traversing its vast map on foot doesn’t come without a price. Luckily, that all changes when you’re riding the best vehicle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This machine has a simple design and is quite easy to assemble, saving you a tremendous amount of time and headaches. Say goodbye to keeping an eye on your stamina bar! Say goodbye to pesky enemies roaming the roads!
Since its release in May of last year, Tears of the Kingdom players have been letting their imaginations run wild thanks to the Ultraman ability introduced in TOTK. With this ability, our hero can use ancient Zonnan technology to create all kinds of constructions, often with the most bizarre and hilarious results. Some of these constructions are a lesson in physics, but when it comes down to it, functionality always wins our hearts. And this is where the design of the hoverbike comes in!
The flying motorcycle is a simple and versatile vehicle
The hoverbike is the ultimate TOTK vehicle, as it’s easy to build, requires few materials, and barely any battery power to operate. This simple yet effective build, originally posted on YouTube by 2uncle2dane, lets you fly around Hyrule without a care in the world.
Best of all, unlike many vehicles in TOTK, the hoverbike never shuts off. You can hover in the sky for as long as you want because the fans keep running even when the battery runs out. While other, more complicated vehicles can perform certain tasks better or faster, such as transporting items or fighting enemies, the hoverbike is best for general use and travel, and is useful in almost every area of the game.
With enough battery, the hoverbike makes soaring through the sky or traversing the Depths almost a walk in the park, as it can reach the highest points on the map or hover over potential threats. This vehicle is an easy and simple solution to get around most of TOTK’s obstacles, which can make the game “too easy.”
How to build the flying motorcycle in Tears Of The Kingdom
Fortunately, parts for the hoverbike aren’t hard to come by. The fans and rudder are some of the most useful Zonnan gadgets in Tears of the Kingdom, but they’re also some of the most common. These can often be found in Zonnan gadget dispensers or scattered around the map. As 2uncle2dane explains, assembling the hoverbike is a bit trickier, as it requires placing the rudder exactly between the two fans, at a 45-degree angle. You’ll likely have to try a few times, as a slightly off-center rudder can cause the vehicle to fly erratically.
Once you’ve built a good hoverbike, replicating it is as easy as saving the build with the Schematic Generator skill (you can find all the default schematics in this guide). You can then rebuild the hoverbike at almost any time. Additionally, while the fan and rudder are easy to obtain, you can also rebuild the hoverbike from scratch with the Schematic Generator for the price of 9 Zonnanium (which can be found in abundance by exploring the Depths), making the hoverbike an even more versatile option.
The hoverbike is well worth any initial frustration, as the end result will allow Link to traverse Hyrule in comfort. Traversing the map in a tank or spaceship is all well and good, but when it comes to getting from point A to point B, the hoverbike is TOTK’s best vehicle.
