Michel Ancel took to social media to discuss a few things, mainly criticizing the media and internet personalities regarding the many published reports of his departure from Ubisoft, which was apparently the result of toxic leadership. Ancel also briefly discussed the new Rayman project at Ubisoft that he was a consultant on and says he’s super happy that Rayman is coming back. He also talked about Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown failing to meet Ubisoft’s sales expectations, and the team has now been disbanded and put on another project with a video game developer.
“As for Rayman, I’m very happy that I was consulted and it’s a real pleasure to know that he and his friends are back!”
“To the Lost Crown POP team, let’s hope they can reform and produce a deserved sequel. Ubisoft [sic] understand that the success of such a project is connected with the birth of a strong collective. This is priceless. Maybe one day the leaders will realize that!”
Ancel signed off by saying that he is now “back to his personal projects and ‘little zoos'” – apparently a reference to how his current work with wildlife was described in the “disdainful article”.
