You may recall that last year it was announced that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy would be coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on January 26th, 2024. Well, that day is now less than 2 weeks away. With the release so close, producer Kenichi Hashimoto was recently interviewed by Play Magazine to discuss the trilogy and the Ace Attorney series in general.
During the interview, Hashimoto talks about why the series switched to 3D graphics. Hashimoto said, “We didn’t plan to go 3D with Apollo Justice. During the development of the fifth game, Dual Destinies, we saw how successful the 3D visual effects were in Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney. Combined with the capabilities of ten current Nintendo 3DS hardware, we felt we couldn’t ignore the 3D capabilities. So we tried a visual style of 3D models that looked like 2D art, and it turned out even better than we expected”.
