UK press release Metro recently interviewed with Doom Eternal director Marty Stratton about the upcoming festival and the interview has entered Super Smash Bros Ultimate. As you may have seen on social media there have been numerous requests for the Doom slayer to appear in the game to some fans of annoyance. Mr Strattton said he had a brief chat with someone at Nintendo, but it didn't go anywhere. Here are his full comments:
GC: What about the rumors that Doom Slayer was in Smash Bros.? (This was just a few days before it was announced by Byleth – GC) Do you think it is possible?
MS: I don't know. I asked them.
GC: You asked them?
MS: Yes.
GC: Well, of course, that's how Super Snake came in. Could they reduce us simply because of the cycle and the violence?
MS: I dunno. You would certainly have to ask them. We were never contacted and said, & # 39; Hello Doomguy can be on the Smash Bros.?' But we are open minded if they want to ask. But we hear it all the time (from fans). Who can say no? (laughs)
GC: But you asked them?
MS: We have been … I don't know who you talked to, but we've been with her. We have a great relationship with them by bringing Doom 2016 to Change with that kind of thing. So we have some really good people there but it's one of those things where it is, & # 39; wouldn't it be great? & # 39; But it's never gone that far, we'll see.
