An interesting message that has been published recently comes back to us and is related to one of the most outstanding titles in the catalog planned for the hybrid console. This time we are talking about Sonic Frontiers.
Sonic Frontiers
Following comments on fan reaction to his “void”, the post below includes comments from Sonic Team’s studio head, Takashi Iizukaabout how in development they had to completely discard the first idea
In 2017 Sonic Forces was released. After the game was over, the team said, okay, what’s the next title we’re going to do, and since we had this idea that we needed to do something new, we needed a different format… You know, it’s been five years since 2017. But we really wanted to spend a lot of time changing and creating this new format.
We played it in the tests and we think that this is not working, that something is not right. So we had to scrap it all, throw it all away, start over, and keep trying. He took a lot longer, you know? Usually when we’re making a Sonic game, we’re going to do something based on the old format so we can go straight into production, we know what we’re going to do. But it is this way of working that we needed to get to this open area, a style and format that took us a couple of years, so it took us much longer.
What do you think? Do not hesitate to leave it in the comments. Finally, you can also find our complete coverage of this game, which is scheduled to be released by the end of 2022 no specific date, here.
