Earlier this week, Nintendo rolled out a surprise update to the “mature” N64 app Switch Online, adding Shadow Man and Turok 2.
Other than this, some fixes seem to have been applied to Perfect Dark Version 1.2.0 mature N64 applications. As pointed out ‘Graslu00’ on social networksprevious problems with the “blur effect” are seemingly reduced.
Here’s what else was noted about the Switch Online version of Perfect Dark in this latest update:
– Sound mastering is still quiet
– Input lag is a bit better (?)
– The blur effect has been significantly reduced
– There are still many frame drops, including when recording
– X track has been fixed
– Flares of light still show through cannons (and some walls) except for the Sun which is fixed
– Explosions are still too weak, but shards work properly
– UV are fixed
Dataminer ‘OatmealDome’ also shared some screenshots showing the blur effect in version 1.1.0 (an earlier version) compared to how it looks now after the latest update to the Switch Online app for mature N64:
[NSO – Nintendo 64]
– Version 1.2.0 It seems to fix an issue in Perfect Dark where the blur effect was not emulated correctly.
– A bug could prevent the player from continuing because the screen “froze” at the end
Following the latest game additions to the mature app this week, the app now has a total of four titles.
Last week, Nintendo added Banjo-Tooie to the all-ages N64 app. This version of the application has been launched Version 2.1.7.0 after the last update.
