SEGA and Sonic Team have launched a new update for Sonic Frontiers in celebration of Sonic’s birthday yesterday. The update includes decorations and a new costume for Sonic’s Big Day, new challenges for Open Zones, the inclusion of Spin Dash, a new Koco, and the ability to start a New Game+ with all your stats and skills carried over from your previous playthrough. Here are the full patch notes:
- Added functionality to display percentage complete for each island – available on transition screen between islands, select island screen and delete island screen.
- Added new “Frontier Elite” costume.
- Added the ability to change the rate of deceleration when jumping.
- Added a “NEW” icon to be displayed when new content is added.
- Added option to enable/disable “Change BGM” function in Cyber Space.
- Rhea Island tower difficulty reduced for easy mode.
- When the following time-saving actions are used in Cyber Space, the results will now show colored markers:
- Self-referencing dash: white
- Spin Dash: Red
- Jump deceleration rate change: yellow
- Cyber Space Power Boost: Blue
- Added feature to override clear time and rank in Arcade mode, Cyber Space, Battle Rush, etc.
- Added an ON/OFF option to set whether the camera will use dramatic angles when skills are used.
- Added an option to set the rate of deceleration to a complete stop.
- Added ON/OFF option to set whether boost is maintained while jumping.
- Added 24 songs to Juke Box. Added sound memories on each island.
- Additional bug fixes.
