As we informed you before, the popular Civilization VI in Nintendo Switch has been presenting an annoying error since its launch, which the developer 2K Games He has promised to solve.
Complying with his word, the company has now released a new patch that brings version 1.2.2.0 and as explained in the Civilization subreddit, has fixed the error or at least it will not be presented in new games. Some saved games may still be affected by the error, but not in all modes.
This is the message from one of a player who has performed the tests:
Companions Nintendo Switch players: today comes a new patch and seems to have solved the big problem of "victory closure." Since I noticed the problem, I have been saving my games one turn before winning, and with the new patch I have been loading them one by one and so far three have successfully finished the game.
Issue # 1: Domination, Religious and Science victories now work normally with the save files they had waiting for a turn before the victory. However, Cultural's victories still do not work. He had victories ready for Kongo, Egypt and Persia; But none of them works. The games continue normally, despite having more than enough foreign tourists to give way to victories. I can't determine if it's only with previously saved games or if Cultural's victories won't work in new games either. I guess I will soon find out, since Cultural is my favorite victory mode.
Issue # 2: Happy to report that I just finished a new quick game in which I won a Cultural victory with China without problems, so it seems that it only affects the Cultural victories of previously saved games! Hurrah!
