Crypt of the NecroDancer finally got a Synchrony update last month, and now Brace Yourself Games has revealed that even more paid DLC is on the way.
The latest announcement is a crossover with the famous virtual idol Hatsune Miku. This content is now available on other platforms and will be coming to Nintendo Switch “soon”.
If you choose to download it, you’ll get access to a new character (Hatsune Miku) and a new soundtrack featuring 15 Hatsune Miku songs. Brace Yourself Games also adds some new features, changes and bug fixes in this latest update.

New character
- Hatsune Miku:
- Move in all 8 directions, don’t stop!
- Dance through enemies to hit them with your trusty bow!
- No shovel – instead dig by smashing your way through enemies and into walls!
- Charm monsters and break walls with your new ability: SING!
- Hit repeatedly to deal increasing amounts of damage and restore SING charges!
New soundtrack
- Hatsune Miku Soundtrack:
- Dance to 15 Hatsune Miku songs added to the soundtrack, including two new songs created by Danny Baranowsky!

- This soundtrack is enabled by default when you play Hatsune Miku.
- It can be selected for other characters in single-player via the “Change Soundtrack” menu.
- Due to differences in song speed and duration, use of this soundtrack on other characters is subject to the “Custom Music” top ranking.
- Achievements can still be unlocked while playing with the Miku soundtrack.
Compatibility Notes
- Playing as Hatsune Miku during an online multiplayer session (SYNCHRONY) allows non-DLC players to join the lobby and play with other characters.
New features
- Added compatibility mode when joining online multiplayer lobbies hosted on older versions:
- Any online multiplayer lobby hosted on v4.0.0 or later can be entered, even if the game is on a later version.
- Selecting “Cross-play” when hosting a multiplayer lobby can temporarily revert the game to a previous patch to allow players from other platforms to join.
Changes
- Changed default multi combos for special actions (eg UP+LEFT for ITEM 1, etc.) to no longer apply to controllers
- Multi-press combos for special actions can still be assigned manually via the “Reassign controls” menu by pressing two buttons at once
Error corrections
- Fixed screen tearing on some systems
- If you’re still experiencing tearing after this update, visit the “Display Options” menu and uncheck the “Reduce input lag” option
- Fixed high input latency on some systems
- Fixed graphics corruption on some systems
- Fixed button mappings canceling themselves after manual unbinding
- Fixed music playback stalling on some systems
- Fixed Link and GC CRAB character skins not being selectable
- Fixed Reaper not being selectable as a skin for other characters when “Show All Characters” is checked
- Fixed “Uninstall” menu option not working on mods previously loaded in the same session
- Fixed Shopkeeper Ghost continuing to sing after being defeated in online multiplayer
