Mortal Kombat 1 is constantly growing its roster of characters, and the latest update on Switch and numerous other platforms adds Janet Cage.

Cage joins the battle as a Kameo Fighter, meaning you don’t directly control the character. Instead, it’s like you invite them into fights with button presses and combos, and they do their thing from there. They may also be called upon to deliver the finishing blow.

Apart from this, the latest Mortal Kombat 1 update comes with a bunch of other updates (including some “Nintendo Switch specific” fixes related to visuals). You can get the full preview below, courtesy of the official Mortal Kombat site:

  • Fixed an issue with Mileena’s roll (back, down + backstab) causing it to go out of bounds after connecting with the Exploding Krystal modifier

  • Fixed an issue that caused Task 5 of the Frame Data Unsafe Attack lesson to be impossible to complete

  • Fixed a visual issue with Omni-Man’s cape during fights
  • Fixed an issue that prevents reconnecting to servers unless the game is restarted
  • Fixed a visual issue with Mileena’s Shiva Ranatai skin
  • Fixed an issue where the HUD would randomly disappear
  • Fixed an issue with inappropriate animations with Mileena’s Order of Darkness masks

  • Fixed an issue that caused King of the Hill to disconnect
