At the Xbox Games Showcase, Atlus announced two new Persona games. Just a few days later, they were confirmed for multiple other platforms. The Switch version of Persona 5 Tactica was included in this reveal, but there was no mention of it at the time Persona 3 Reload for the hybrid platform.
Fortunately, there may still be a chance. After a placeholder box image for the Switch was revealed last weekend, another listing for Nintendo’s hybrid platform now appears to have popped up, this time via online retailer Playasia – with a “preliminary image” image. This was pointed out by a fan via the Nintendo Switch subreddit:
Of course, this does not officially confirm anything. At the same time, it seems to have given some fans hope that a Nintendo Switch release for Persona 3 Reload could still be possible, with some users on the same subreddit speculating that it could be a future “Nintendo Direct” announcement.
At first glance, this remake doesn’t look beyond the Switch’s capabilities, especially when you consider some of the impossible port jobs of the past. Atlus has also previously released Persona 3, Persona 4, Persona 5 and numerous spin-off titles on Nintendo’s latest system.
This minor development once again follows the confirmation of Persona 5 Tactica for Switch earlier this week. A new tactical RPG spin-off will be released later this year November 17, 2023. Persona 3 Reload is also slated to arrive in “early 2024.”
