The Stranger Things actor really wants Nintendo to make an animated Zelda movie

Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson in the popular Netflix series, has spoke to Variety

about his plans for the Christmas period and 2023 Henderson, who is a huge Nintendo fan, told the entertainment site that he teamed up with the Kyoto-based company to “discuss a few of their latest titles that he hopes to play this holiday season.” Matarazzo also told Variety that he also loves The Legend of Zelda franchise and says it’s been a dream of his to see a visual and musical animated film starring Link and friends. He says that exploring a vocally silent Hyrule with a story told visually supported by a magnificent score would be something he would absolutely love to see.

Now that he has a bit of a break during the holidays, Matarazzo, a lifelong Nintendo fan, is teaming up with the brand to discuss a few of their latest titles that he hopes to play this holiday season.

“I mom says I’m the worst person to shop for, because I never have a list or say I want something specific,” says the actor, noting that he knows exactly what he’s giving for gifts this year. “I know I’ll be giving ‘Pokémon Scarlet’ and ‘Pokémon Violet’ to friends and I’m ready to start playing them myself.”

“I’m a huge ‘Legend of Zelda’ fan and have always wanted to see a very visually and musically driven animated film. It could be challenging when most of the characters never speak, but to explore a vocally silent world where the story can be told visually and through music would be really cool.”
