United Label has confirmed that the upcoming hack ‘n’ slash sequel Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will launch for Nintendo Switch in February 2025.
The game was unveiled during Microsoft’s Gamescom broadcast, with a new trailer boasting some nice gameplay footage and accompanying narration from warlock voice actor Doug Cockle. Indeed, a quote from the trailer describes the game as “half Witcher, half Game of Thrones”so if you’re a fan of either, you might want to pay attention to this one.
The game retains the same brutal combat as its predecessor along with stunning stylized visuals and exceptional use of lighting and color. If nothing else, it’s sure to go down as one of the most impressive games on the Switch, and we reckon it’ll look especially delicious on an OLED screen.
But for now, let’s remind ourselves of the key features:
– Extended campaign of violence and revenge – Whiskers of Winter’s The ‘tail’ of Arlo’s fight against the wild Dark Wing Bats is an intense experience featuring a semi-open RPG world set in six different biomes to explore and new animal factions to discover.
– Challenging fight – Building on the characteristic hardcore combat of the series, Iron tails 2 features improved weapon gameplay, including four elemental effects (fire, ice, electricity, and poison) to imbue Arlo’s arsenal with unique abilities to use against enemies.
– NEW monster hunting gameplay – To tip the balance against the new canine army of Dark Wing Bats, Arlo can find and overcome 15 huge and challenging beasts to scavenge their corpses for rare upgrade materials.
– Improved base building – Build and upgrade the ruined settlement of Winter’s Edge to gain access to more powerful items from the forge, tastier dishes in the kitchen, a greater range of powerful traps from the shop, and more!
– NEW day and night system – Arlo will face different enemies depending on the time of day, with more enemy types added as new monsters are hunted and defeated.
