Movie Super Mario Bros. is breaking records around the world, even dethroning Disney’s Frozen 2 as the biggest global opening for an animated film of all time. Now Nintendo and Illumination have broken another record as the movie Super Mario Bros. became the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time at the global box office. The previous record holder for this was the 2016 Warcraft film with its global gross of $439 million along with Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokemon Detective Pikachu and Uncharted movie.
