© Nintendo LifeIt's almost as expected as PlayStation and Xbox fans begin to turn their attention to looking at things for the coming generations this year, but Nintendo switchch is still well positioned as the best-selling game of 2020 in the US.
This news comes from American market research firm NPD Group; company analyst Matt Piscatella shared the following update.
"Nintendo switchch has been the best-seller of February of February in both units and dollars. And [it] remains one of the best-selling parts of the year."
Not a great time for the gaming industry as a whole, however, hardware spending has been much lower this February compared to the same period last year. "Hardware usage in February 2020 decreased by 34% compared to the previous year, to $ 183 million," Piscatella said. "All of the stock market platforms have declined compared to the previous year. Annual spending dropped 35 percent, to $ 312 million."
The switchch has had a difficult time in Japan lately, the outbreak of coronavirus is affecting the genre's distribution. Our regular Japanese chart review shows that the original model only changed 4,424 units last week, even though they were sitting somewhere around 80,000 marks a week before any impact was seen. Surprisingly, this has resulted in an increase in sales of Switch Lite as fans grab whatever program is available to them.
