As you will know, The Witcher is going to release a series on the famous platform Netflix and every time we get more details of how the premiere will be, perhaps one of the great events that intersect the small screen with video games and that it is worth being followed closely.
This time the executive producer of the series, Tomek Baginski, has made these interesting statements taken from an interview to Comicbook.com. These statements enter into a conversation in which the producer confirmed that the story they are going to tell does not strictly follow the script of the first book:
There is really a lot of material in the books with which to do only 8 episodes, so we had to be very careful when choosing what story we wanted to tell. Lauren S. Hissrich (main screenwriter) has done a very good job. Not only has he chosen the right stories to tell Geralt's plot, but, at the same time, he gives us a lot of background about Yennefer or Ciri. For us the main objective is to tell a bigger story, and to do that we have to start a saga, but the saga not only has Geralt and his friends, it also deals with Yennefer and Ciri, and we knew we had to model those characters before .
What do you think? Have you read the books? Do you think this adaptation is better or would you prefer to follow a story more faithful to books? Leave us your comments!
