Now that we are enjoying the latest installment, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (be sure to take a look at our analysis here), it is time again to talk about those games in the Zelda saga that have not yet received a port, remastering or remake on the Nintendo hybrid console, and that without a doubt they would suit you wonderfully.
Classic and not so classic
As you well know, Nintendo Switch has become a very important console for the resurgence of many Nintendo sagas (see F-Zeroof which after announcing the arrival of F-Zero GP Legend and F-Zero Climax to the Nintendo Switch Online catalog this same October 11all that’s left is F-Zero GX to have the complete saga at our disposal in the same systemand we cannot forget F-Zero 99, which does not stop receiving new updates), and although the saga of the green-robed hero does not need that kind of push to become popular again, it is known that fans welcome with open arms any launch that brings us closer to being able to play each and every one of the Zelda saga titles on the same console.
Not in vain, if the forecasts are fulfilled and Nintendo Switch 2 adopts full backward compatibility
The Wind Waker y Twilight Princess (GameCube, remaster HD para WiiU)
They are next to Starfox Zero y Xenoblade Chronicles X the most powerful games in the catalog WiiU (let’s remember that although they were not born on that console they received a remaster an HD) that have not been made available to Nintendo Switch players. They appear in all the pools of the possible Nintendo Direct announcements
It is unquestionable that they are two masterpieces of the Zelda saga that deserve to be replayed, and despite having a totally different setting from each other, both were acclaimed by critics and players, becoming authentic references of the genre from which countless games from other companies have been consumed. Besides, sail with the Red Figurehead or run around with Midna on Wolf Link’s back across the plains of Hyrule anywhere thanks to the portable format of the Nintendo Switch It is an irresistible idea.
Four Swords Adventures (GameCube)
Another title in the Zelda saga that was born on Nintendo GameCube. In this case, designed to be enjoyed in company, it cannot be denied that it would fit like a glove on Nintendo Switch, since except for its Lite version, we already have at our disposal the possibility of playing it on multiplayer mode without the need to purchase any additional controller thanks to the two Joy-Con that come with the console, only needing two pairs of them to live the complete experience. Development shouldn’t be too laborious either for Nintendo, and they could use the graphics engine from Link’s Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom for the remake since It wouldn’t clash with the game at all and would look great. I also want to add, and clarify that this is a personal opinion, that it would not seem crazy to me to see a new game of this sub-saga in the near future.
A Link Between Worlds (Nintendo 3DS)
With the excuse of returning to Hyrule from A Link to the Past in Echoes of Wisdom (I still don’t know to what extent it is directly related to the latter. but I have not wanted to inform myself in depth to evitar spoilersI’ve only been here for a few hours, excuse me if I’m wrong in this statement; In any case, we bring you more information about it in this news), it would not be unreasonable to bring back The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Although a remake is quite unlikely today
Phantom Hourglass y Spirit Tracks (Nintendo DS)
Even more unlikely than A Link Between Worldsbut not impossible. Due to its playable features strictly related to the console hardware in which they were released (Nintendo DS), it is difficult for us to see Nintendo readapt these games for Nintendo Switch since it would be inevitable to alter the original experience. Remember that in these deliveries the control was 99% touch and many mechanics made use of the double screen and included of microphone. In any case, it would be a shame not to recover these two installments that are as fun as they are different and that also They are considered direct continuations of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
I have left out the spin-offs since I have preferred to focus on the main games of the Zelda sagabut if you liked the article you can leave a comment and tell me if you would like another similar one talking about other games like Link’s Crossbow Training o Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland.
What do you think? Do you also think it would be worth it to be able to play these installments on Nintendo Switch? Do you think it’s obvious that they will end up arriving but that it will already be on Nintendo Switch 2? We read you in the comments!
