The scan function is one of the most important in New Pokemon Snap. So that you are prepared for its premiere on Nintendo Switch, here we bring you everything we know about it.

- The mechanics of the game consists of going for a tour in the Neo One travel capsule seeing wild Pokémon that we can photograph with the camera so that, at the end of the tour, the teacher gives us a score based on factors such as direction, position and size.
- The scan function allows us inspect the ground and find out more about a particular Pokémon, with details like name and gender. This is important because the teacher will give us more points the rarer a Pokémon is.
