This morning we got to know a new video along with the release date and the Japanese special edition of NEO: The World Ends with You. Now we get an interesting message related to this outstanding launch of Nintendo Switch.
In the text below, Square Enix offers us more details about the game’s history, locations, and more. Here it is:
Story
It was just another seemingly normal day in Shibuya, but not for Rindo. I could tell that something about the city seemed different.
A girl with a sinister aura appears before him, identifying herself as one of the so-called Reapers. With some concern, Rindo decides to play along, but everything is very strange …
Battles with monsters called “the noise”, pins that grant mysterious powers and a place called Shibuya UG (underground) to set the scene of the game; It is not long before Rindo begins to have doubts about his decision.
Characters
The latest players to jo in the game: the Wicked Twisters.
Rindo (voiced by Paul Castro Jr. in English, Yuuma Uchida in Japanese)
One of the newest players to Reapers’ Game, Rindo is a high school student for whom looking up information on his phone is vital. He prefers to go along with everyone, and while he doesn’t make an effort to interact with others, he won’t turn them away if they come to talk to him first. Pushed into this game without even realizing it, he now serves as the de facto leader of the Wicked Twisters.
Fret (voiced by Griffin Burns in English, Chiharu Sawashiro in Japanese)
Fret, carefree classmate and friend of Rindo in this game, has the ability to get along with almost anyone. While he defines himself as a natural talker, he prefers not to get into trouble, subconsciously avoiding topics that are too serious. He likes to walk around the city with his friend “Rindude.”
Nagi (voiced by Miranda Parkin in English, Mina Katahira in Japanese)
Another participant in the game, Nagi is a college student whose youthful appearance leads others to mistake her for a high school student. He loves his hobbies and devotes all his time and energy to his favorite games. Very perceptive, she is very aware of the emotions of others and shows disdain for those she considers shallow and untrue.
Minamimoto (voiced by Andy Hirsch in English, Takayuki Fujimoto in Japanese)
A partner in this game, Minamimoto puts his impressive psychic powers to use when he saves Rindo and the gang from a tight spot early on, then gets into their team.
He calculates all possible futures using his own unique formulas and acts according to the values he discovers, but he remains a mystery to everyone around him. He seems to have his sights set on something bigger than Rindo and the gang.
Shiba (voiced by Shaun Conde in English, Daiki Hamano in Japanese)
Shiba currently ranks first among the Reapers in Shibuya UG, having worked his way to the top a year after his arrival. He also serves as the Master of the Game, arbiter of its rules and encourages his players to stay active. His psychic powers far exceed those of his companions, so that no one dares to disobey him.
