As for gaming related discussion in general, a whopping 2.4 billion topical tweets were made in total during the year, which is a 14% increase from the year prior. Q4 2021 in particular was the biggest quarter for gaming tweets in Twitter’s history. With the rise in popularity of many streamers and content creators, and big game releases from major publishers like Metroid Dread and Halo Infinite, there’s no doubt as to why gamers had a lot to share and discuss in 2021.
