Ubisoft has announced that it will no longer attend E3 2023. In an update, the French video game company revealed that it will instead host its own separate event this June.
In a statement to our friends at VGC, Ubisoft explained how it decided to go in a “different direction”, with its own ‘Ubisoft Forward Live event’ in Los Angeles on June 12th.
“While we originally intended to have an official presence at E3, we later made the decision to go in a different direction, and will hold a Ubisoft Forward Live event on June 12 in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players soon.”
It follows confirmation earlier this year that Nintendo and Xbox will skip the event in 2023. Xbox will host its own game show around the same time, but Nintendo has yet to reveal exactly what its plans are.
In a statement dating back to February, ESA said at the time that it remained committed to E3. ReedPop, the organizer of E3 2023, has yet to comment on the latest withdrawal, but if there are any updates, we’ll let you know.
Full disclosure: Nintendo Life and its Hookshot Media are sister sites in partnership with ReedPop.
