It’s Kotaku reporting today
that the long-awaited Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in development at Ubisoft and that some of the Prince of Persia: Lost Crown team are working on the project. Seasoned Ubisoft veteran Fawzi Mesmar is now the game’s creative director. Ubisoft said Mr. Mesmar is “focused on continuing to build on the vision set forth by our late friend and colleague, Emile Morel.” Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel and senior game producer Guillaume Brunier are no longer involved with the project.
“The game recently successfully passed an internal milestone with positive feedback from the company’s leadership, according to two sources familiar with the production. While there is still much work to be done, at least some developers on the project feel that it has finally found its footing and a clearer direction after years of technical issues and internal power struggles.”
