The UK, which is the largest video game market in Europe, continues to adopt digital games at an incredible rate, with games industry data revealing that 75% of games purchased during August 2024 were digital editions rather than physical editions. The fact that we have no data caps and that broadband speeds are relatively fast is probably a big factor in adoption. Figures from the GSD reveal that 1.74 million video games were sold in the UK during August, which the Games Industry said was a slight 1.5% drop compared to August 2023.
