UK officially blocks Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard

bad news for Microsoft. Today we have finally received the verdict from the CMA (the Competition and Market Authority) regarding the purchase of Activision Blizzard, and the news could not be worse for the greens. As officially announced, UK has decided to block this purchase. The main reason? If carried out, this could harm competitiveness

in the cloud gaming market.

As shared, the CMA is of the opinion that this problem could not be solved even if they decided to sell the Call of Duty franchise, leaving it out of the intellectual properties that Microsoft would acquire with this agreement. Nor would there be a solution in promising its competitors offer different games on their platforms. Of course, things are not looking good.
