The US Federal Trade Commission said it wants more details on the deal between Microsoft and Nintendo on the 10-year Call of Duty contract for Nintendo platforms. Tweaktown reports that the Federal Trade Commission has subpoenaed Steve Singer, Nintendo of America’s vice president of publisher and developer relations, to submit up to seven hours of testimony to the FTC’s appeals attorney. Mr. Singer was in charge of negotiating the contract between Microsoft and Nintendo.
“Nintendo of America’s legal counsel claims that the FTC did not issue a subpoena until it learned that Singer was the Nintendo executive responsible for negotiations with Microsoft. The FTC requested the identity of Nintendo’s negotiator on March 16, then served a subpoena on March 29-30. March. Both the request for identification and the delivery of the subpoena were made after the deadline for the subpoena expired on March 3.
