On April 12th and 13th in the US (April 13th and 14th in Japan), the world will be watching – but more importantly, the world will be playing together again. Nintendo of America can’t wait to cheer on all the players representing North America at the Splatoon 3 World Cup 2024 and the first in history Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
North America will have a large presence at both events, with individual players and teams set to face off against opponents from Europe, Japan, Hong Kong/Taiwan, Australia and New Zealand, and South Korea. Follow their ongoing stories as they compete for international bragging rights:
- Jackpot’s Big Return: Splatoon 3 World Championship 2024 is something special for the “Jackpot” team, consisting of players Madness, Leafi, Jared, .q, max! and Ren. After being eliminated in the first round of the 2022 Splatoon 3Enter the Splatlands Invitational (held during PAX West), Jackpot bounced back with a big win at the 2023 Splatoon 3Championship at Nintendo Live 2023 SEATTLE – earning a ticket to Japan for the World Championship tournament.
- When asked to describe their strategy, Jackpot prides itself on its balance between fast, no-nonsense attacks and “fun, goofy” unpredictability.
- Kevo’s Need For Speed: Being the first player from Mexico to ever win the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe North American tournament isn’t enough for Kev. He hopes to use his aggressive style to dominate his international rivals as he did during the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship Cup 2023 at PAX East 2023. Kevo earned his trip to Japan with another dominant recent performance, this successful defense of his of the North The crown of the American champion at Nintendo Live 2023 SEATTLE.
