It’s hard to believe that in a little less than two months we will experience another completely new thing Zelda title on Nintendo Switch.

It seems like only yesterday that we analyzed the third and final trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but we’re here to take a look at Nintendo’s latest marketing for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It’s the first main entry in the franchise to star the titular princess herself, which means the game will be significantly different than what you’re used to with regular hero Link (or Barry, or Keith, or I Dude, or whatever I’ve dubbed him in the past ).

With that in mind, our lovely video producer Alex is here to walk you through the latest trailer and list anything you may have missed the first time around. There’s a lot to go through on this one, so while we won’t highlight every single point raised in this article, you can find a short list of some of the more interesting information below.

  • There are cats! And dogs! And cookies!
  • Zelda posters can be seen in the environment, possibly acting as a ‘Wanted’ or ‘Missing’ notice.
  • Unsurprisingly, the mission UI is incredibly similar to BOTW and TOTK.
  • Unexplored areas of the map will have faint outlines indicating vague topography.
  • The diving mechanic is back!
  • Butterflies are a thing and apparently you can catch them.
  • The clothing appears to be cosmetic and nothing more.
  • Our companion Tri appears to be upgradeable, increasing the amount of manipulation of objects and enemies.

There’s a lot more where that came from, so be sure to check out the full video when you have the time. For now, if you still haven’t secured a copy of the game, take a look at our full pre-order guide below to get an idea of some of the deals currently available.
