It seems there have been more gameplay leaks of Sega’s legacy revival projects. This information comes from a leaker formerly known as ‘Midori’. According to the source, the footage shown is still “early on” in each game’s development cycle.

First, we have a look at the Crazy Taxi reboot, which features multiple vehicles racing through the game world and ferrying passengers to their destinations. This footage is said to date back to “the year 2022”, with claims that this particular game could be years away from release.

Previous reports have suggested that this new entry in the series will be a “massively multiplayer driving game.” Sega also shared a description of the new Crazy Taxi game in the official documentation:

Crazy Taxi: “Innovative and fresh stylish driving action! A cheerful feeling of freedom x A combination of nature and the city. Roll out the new Crazy City stage!”

Next up is apparently an “early version” of Shinobi, showing the game’s intro movie and a short gameplay sequence. This title is reportedly being developed by Lizardcube (Streets of Rage 4).

Shinobi: Kill enemies in the stillness of the moment. Run through the Shinobi world full of monsters and ninja action. Grab Oborozuki, the legendary sword, and slay evil once again. Your clan and the world are counting on you.”

Again, what can be seen in the videos above is very “early” development footage, so nothing shown may necessarily reflect the final product.

Sega has officially announced that they will be reimagining five classic IPs including Jet Set Radio, Crazy TaxiGolden Axe, Shinobi and Streets of Rage late last year. Some accompanying news has suggested that even more legacy franchises could be revitalized.

These latest leaks follow leaked footage of the new Jet Set Radio remake project in June 2024.
