There aren’t many things that could make ‘Lifelight’, the main theme from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
YouTube channel The 8-Bit Big Band has shared a new video showing exactly that, with 664 musicians from around the world coming together to record themselves remotely for the project. Co-ordinating and then editing all of those recordings together sounds like an absolute nightmare, so props to the talented folks who worked to make it happen.
The 8-Bit Big Band: “During the unfortunate events of the COVID-19, I wanted to create a way for musicians and video game music fans to come together virtually to work together on a piece of music we could all be proud of, and celebrate our love for the Great Video Game Songbook together!”
You can find a full list of all the musicians who took part here, too. Congrats to all on a job well done.
If you’re after more lockdown Nintendo-based musical goodness, it just so happens that Nintendo shared a similar – albeit smaller – project just last week. If you missed it, make sure to catch the original performers of Animal Crossing: New Horizons‘ main theme playing the track together.
