Witcher 3 studio CD Projekt is now the largest video game company in Europe, according to the latest market statistics.

It was estimated at $ 6.8 billion about a month ago, but that figure has risen to $ 8 billion since then thanks in part to Witcher 3's impressive commercial performance on the switch The smoke, as well as an introduction to the Witcher genre that is being promoted to date by the popular Netflix action series.

Upcoming release of Cyberpunk 2077 – which is expected to be one of the biggest games of 2020 – could also have an impact on the company's sudden rise in value. All of this means that the Polish company is second to France's largest Ubisoft in terms of revenue – Ubisoft is currently worth about $ 9.6 billion.

What makes this growth so remarkable is the fact that the company has not published anywhere near many titles such as Ubisoft. Founded in 1994, CD Projekt has published just seven games: Witcher, Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Witcher Adventure Game, Witcher War Arena, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Gwent: Witcher Card Game and Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

As you can see, the CD Projekt business is currently based on its evolution in Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher series, and it is yet to be seen if Cyberpunk 2077 – itself is based on an existing building, namely Cyberpunk 2020 the tabletop system – developed by Mike Pondsmith – has the same legs as the epic fantanch franchise.

Still, despite saying that it will happen move away from Geralt in the past, the company recently signed a new deal with Sapkowski indicating that we will see more Witcher games in the future. Good times here to stay, it would seem.
