I’m on holibob this weekend and, in a moment of panic, I realized I have nothing to play while I’m away. What should I do? Go out in the Italian sun? Dive into the pool? Read a book? What am I, an animal??
This will not work at all. A quick look at my eShop wishlist reveals that Wildfrost is currently on a sweet little sale and I’ve had my eye on it for a while. But I may not go for something new. Maybe this is my chance to finally finish Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, or Persona 4 Golden, or Eastward, or whatever title is looming over me staring at me from the backlog.
Yok, I’ll probably start something else…

Against my better judgement, I went and got an N64 controller for NSO, so I think this weekend will be spent with some classics like Banjo-Kazooie, Pokémon Stadium and a relatively unknown title called Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
By the way, surprise surprise, Ollie is back with another Resident Evil binge. I’m playing the OG game on PS5, but I’m also doing a ROM for Resident Evil: Gaiden. It’s not a good game, but it’s oddly enjoyable…

So now I can officially say that I am playing Ace Attorney Investigations!!!!!!!!! It’s so good. I want to talk about it a lot, but I have no one to talk to! I just got my wisdom teeth out yesterday, so I’m trying to play some quieter games, like Subnautica and Everafter Falls, and it’s a long weekend in Canada, so I’m going to stay home and eat all the soft food. I also want to play Thank Godness You’re Here and explain all the British references to my Canadian partner. This is one of those weeks where I’m like, man, I love video games.
(I partner will beat Mohg Ring of fire as well as so I will probably be his cheerleader. Pray for us!)

That sweet smell of August means I’ll soon be off to parts unknown without a single network device in sight! You’ll still have to put up with me for a few more weeks, so this weekend I’m finally playing Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition with my Famicom controllers for a “real competitive edge”. While I’d love to relive the glory days with my recently-arrived physical copy of Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked, my summer DJ set has to take priority — I have until next week!
I game of the week remains Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition. Still looking for all the hidden ace pilots. There really doesn’t need to be any big excuse to keep playing this. I just love flying through this virtual sky!
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? You can let us know which game you’ll be running in the following poll, then share what else you have on your cards in the comments.
