It’s unlikely that I’ll be playing anything of major consequence over the Christmas period, but I did pick up recently Ghostwire: Tokyo on PS5, so I’ll probably jump into that whenever possible. It’s also almost guaranteed that the family will be participating in some Jackbox Party Pack festivities at some point; can’t beat a little Quiplash as you let your Christmas dinner pass through your gut!
I’m actually currently playing a very overlooked title called The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Switch. I heard that some sort of sequel was coming out in 2023, so I figured it would be best to reacquaint myself with the first game.

Christmas is never the time for hardcore narrative games in the Norman household, but board games? That’s where we go hard.
This year, I think it’s going to be all about the Switch (although if the Wii takes off, as is tradition, I wouldn’t be surprised). There will definitely be some Super Mario Party, probably Just Dance and I expect a light sprinkling of Nintendo Switch Sports for good measure.
However, when I can sneak in some time to myself, I’ll continue to mess up aliens and jump buildings in Into The Breach – you know, classic Christmas stuff.

Like many others here, I probably won’t dive into it also lots of playing over the long holiday weekend, especially since we’re driving several hundred miles to see family for a few days! Chained Echoes will still stick with me, and I’ll probably dip into Pokémon Violet and show some kids how to be a true Pokémon Master.
If nothing else, this week’s House of Indies just added a ton of games to my wish list – and potential shopping list. Melatonin and Sports Story (I still haven’t beaten Golf Story…maybe that’s my goal by 2023) are already burning a hole in my purse. Most importantly, whenever I play, it will be with a nice festive drink in hand. Friends, I wish you a wonderful holiday weekend – thanks for spending time with us in 2022!

Well, this weekend is Christmas, so I’m going to play everyone’s favorite game: making a big turkey dinner. When I’m not frantically wrapping, planning and tidying, I’d love to sit down with my Steam Deck, which I haven’t had much time to play with recently!
Also, I have some free time now, I really need to polish my unfinished games. This includes but is not limited to: Pokémon Scarlet, Hollow Knight, Strange Horticulture, and Rune Factory 4. I might even fire up the GameCube to give Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life a go before the remake next summer!

With great progress in completing the Front Mission 1st: Remake OCU campaign, it will jump right into the USNC one after the festivities. An amazing prelude to Merry Switchmas with the physical arrivals of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Demon Throttle, River City Girls Zero and Cuphead. The real Christmas wonder is in the eShop: Wavetale, Lil Gator Game, GyroBlade, The Rusty Sword: Vanguard Island and Kaiju Wars are all making the rounds for the holidays.
Game of the week is Sail Forth. In fact, the deeper Wind Waker sailing simulator that I find extremely hard to put down and actually gets in the way of my progress in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. What a ride this has been…have a great vacation everyone!

Like everyone else, I’m playing a little bit of everything this Christmas. I plan on spending some time with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 3 DLC, and while I’m at it, I might as well check out the Season 5 update for Chocobo GP.
Other than this, I think I’ll be enjoying a game or two of golf when I finally check out the latest Nintendo Switch Sports update. And speaking of sports, last but not least, I’ll be devoting some time to a recent indie release, Sports Story. Happy holidays everyone!

Aside from my annual holiday trip to Freezeezy Peak, I intend to take a moment on Christmas morning to sit down with my kids and introduce them to the icon. Something formative in the medium of video games. Something really simply set them on a good path with a solid foundation in the classics. Yes, I will try to show them tennis via the excellent Atari 50 compilation.
Will it keep their attention? Will it entertain for more than a few moments? Will he take one look at the screen and start singing Kir-by! Kir-by! Kir-by! into my ear hole? Quite possible. But what kind of Christmas would it be without an aging cousin reminiscing about old times and boring everyone, huh?
We wish you all well.
