So other than playing something for review, I really don’t have much going on this weekend in terms of gameplay. I decided to play Oxenfree again after I started working on the sequel, so I can’t wait to get stuck into it at some point.
On the PlayStation 5, I was finally able to play the demos Final Fantasy XVI and Lies P. I enjoyed the first one so much, I might go back to it for another round before the full game launches.

Taking a break from playing a certain massive open world game, I think I’ll spend most of my weekend checking out some demos that have dropped over the last few weeks.
Venba, Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland (both on Steam) and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective are all on my download list – the latter I’ve never played and it’s the game I knowing i will love it. I’ve already tackled the Final Fantasy XVI demo on PS5, but I might play it again. Enjoy your weekends, everyone!

I played this week Not Tears of the Kingdom (I know, what a concept)! Turns out there are actually some other games out there and they’re really pretty good…
I finally got back into Hollow Knight and it’s so damn fun — despite the fact that my confidence is constantly being knocked down by one right now especially frustrating safe. I’d really like to polish that battle this weekend so I can finally get back to some spooky research.
I’m also in the process of re-cracking Sonic Mania. I never liked it when I first played it, but, inspired by the Superstars announcement, I went back to it and now I’m having a lot of fun — that handling is simple soooo sweet.

Now that I’ve finished The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom my gaming life is hollow and empty. So I’m back to my former Nintendo 64 research duties, and Bitmap Books’ latest venture means the PC Engine Mini is being reassembled in front of the TV set. What an utterly brilliant little system! I’m hoping that Nintendo’s big release next month (Pikmin 4 in case it’s not on your radar) will help me get my game mode back.
It’s the game of the week Grimas’ birthday on Game Boy Color. Don’t make that face until you try it.
