Is everyone feeling a bit more chilled out after not-E3? Okay, we’re still waiting for a Nintendo Direct, but we did get a Xenoblade Chronicles 3-focused presentation, where a new Expansion Pass was unveiled. The AM2R devs have reunited on a brand new stunning-looking Metroidvania project. And Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition finally dropped on consoles earlier this week.
It’s also been a busy week for Sonic, who’s celebrated his 31st birthday on Thursday! We sat down with Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, to discuss Sonic Origins. We’ve also showered praise on AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative in our review. And, if you want to know where the best Good Bois are on Switch, then our Best Dogs list has you covered.
Now it’s time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Help. I can’t stop playing Neon White. This game is so addictive; sometimes, even though I’ve got onto the leaderboard and got the Ace medal, I’ll keep plugging away at the level because I’ve seen another possible shortcut. The highest I’ve placed is around 150, so I’m not that good, but it’s so satisfying to claw up the ranks.
Also on the docket is Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country. Is it time for me to confess that I’ve never played Torna until now? I’m absolutely in love with Lora and Addam. But I’m up to my usual Xenoblade tricks of running around, fighting enemies that are too strong, doing every sidequest, and getting lost while exploring. Ahh, it’s good to be back.

‘Tis the season of countless game reveals which has me toying around with my backlog like a sliding block puzzle. I can’t make up my mind on which game to play as my heart is being torn left and right! The reveal of the Crisis Core remake and part two of Final Fantasy VII Remake finally gave me the push I needed to dive into the first part on my PS4 (please don’t disown me).
As for Switch, I most recently finished up AI: The Somnium Files in the lead-up to the release of the sequel, nirvanA Initiative (I went hands-on with the opening hours of the game for the YouTube channel — check it out here! — and already pretty spooked!)
I’ve also been playing through Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and while I’m enjoying my time, I may put it down for a while to try and clean up a few more things on my plate before the other big RPGs hit us next month. Looking at you Live A Live, Digimon Survive and Xenoblade Chronicles 3…

I’m currently playing 3 games at the moment! The Witcher 3 (yes, still going strong with it), which I’m now at the final DLC. Hopefully, not too far in the future, I can finally say I fully beat The Witcher 3!
I’ve also started on a playthrough of Hollow Knight which is always a blast, together with a new playthrough of Cuphead with my brother in preparation for the much-awaited DLC!

No less than eight physical Switch games arrived this past week including long sought-after titles like Windjammers 2 and Horgihugh and Friends. Wreckfest is an absolute dream conversion while Pac-Man Museum+ at long last puts my favourite games of the franchise (Pac-Man Arrangement and Pac-Mania) within hands grasp.
Unsurprisingly, game of the week is Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. This is an absolute must-have for anyone who played Fire Emblem: Three Houses even if you dislike the “Musou” series because it details the events that happened to everyone during the time skip. Long live King Dimitri!

I’m still slowly but surely making my way through Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic at the moment. I swear, I’ll finish it soon, honest! I’m savouring it as much as I can because you can be sure I won’t be touching the sequel until it’s a) received the additional DLC, and b) it’s fixed!
Otherwise, I’ll be diving into a couple of new games, primarily Sonic Origins and Fall Guys. The latter is a lot more fun than I thought it would be and I’m finding it quite addictive. All it needs is Craig Charles to provide some sarcastic narration in the background (shout out to all the Takeshi’s Castle fans out there).
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend gaming plans!
