For now, let’s see what team Nintendo Life is up to this weekend, shall we…?

I hope to devote a little more time to Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD this weekend. It’s definitely my least favorite of the trilogy, but with such a high level of quality, that’s no bad thing. I know the mission structure doesn’t work for everyone, but I enjoy popping into mansions for 10 minutes at a time, doing my silly little tasks, and then getting out of there. It’s a bite, but it’s sweet.
On the other hand, I am so close to the end of my first ever The Last of Us Part II gameplay and I somehow made it this far without spoilers. I’ll definitely polish it up this weekend and then I’ll probably feel bright, happy and not at all emotionally disturbed come Monday morning. That’s how this ends, isn’t it?

I’m still on a bit Metroid at this point, but since I can’t bring myself to renew my NSO subscription right now, I’m sticking with my 3DS. I’m currently bouncing between Metroid: Zero Mission, Metroid: Fusion, and Super Metroid. Of course, each is an all-time great.
As for the PS5, I’m still working my way through it System shock remake, and I think it might be my favorite game of the year..? It’s such a unique experience, but at the same time, you can see how it ended up influencing Bioshock and Spoil. A wonderful thing.

Playing the review game again! How exciting. This one has really blown me away so far, so I’m excited to write about it.
But other than that, I’m waiting for my partner to finish playing the new remake Riven so i can play while he watches! I just played and finished Ist (for the first time) and now I feel like one of my gaming sins has been erased. Now I can finally call myself a true fan of puzzle adventures. I think I should finish Witness Following… sigh.

While EA Sports FC 24 and Virtua Striker 4 ver. 2002 remain on the menu, yes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which takes the top spot for non-Switch action this week. This turned out to be a Space Above and Beyond (ask your grandparents) video game, becoming my favorite single player campaign in the entire franchise while playing it. Switch, however, is where the main course is this weekend with NeoSprint, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, Monster Hunter Stories and the stunning Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble ensuring June ends with a bang.
Game of the week is DarkStar One. Space flight/combat/trading games are few and far between, so when this old gem popped up on the eShop I kept it on my radar. It turns out to be a huge and enjoyable take on the iconic Elite and esteemed Freelancer with some nice QoL updates and, unlike the original release, in a nice 16:9. I’m not sure if I’ll ever find the time to finish it, but for now I’ll happily keep jumping from star system to star system to see what happens next.
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Take the following poll with the game you’ll be running over the next few days, then slide into the comments to tell us what other titles are on the cards.
