Well, despite my best efforts, I still haven’t beaten Hollow Knight. In fact, I’m stuck at the same section where I left my last save file — those damned Watcher Knights will feel my wrath one day, I tell you.
I fully intend to play more this weekend and hopefully get a little closer to the end. But every time I look at the Switch eShop, I see Animal Well staring at me, tapping the clock that seems to be counting down to GOTY selection time. I’m trying to ignore it, but I just don’t know if I’ll have the strength to last much longer. Damn you, adorable capybara, and your ever-watchful eyes!

I’m working on a game review, but I wouldn’t mind going back to Tears of the Kingdom. I’m not in the mood to fight Ganondorf yet, so that will involve me moving away from his quarters as soon as the save loads. Not sure where yet. Somewhere with leaves, or maybe I’ll go hopping over some Sky islands. I still have so much left to explore!

After liberating the elven land, it’s time to turn my attention to the northern icy wastes of Bastorias in Unicorn Overlord. I keep forgetting that I still have to finish the final boss of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. As an aviation fanatic it’s a real shame that Namco Fighter & Attacker Arcade Archive it remains a Japanese exclusive, but there’s no way they could afford the licensing fees needed to release it in the West. Don’t worry because I’m counting the days until Ace Combat 7 hits the shelves. Wait, is that Super Mario Land I spotted on NSO? The soundtrack itself requires fast playback.
Game of the week is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers! Yes, I know I’m late to the party and the sequel is coming out soon, but it’s never too late for voxel-related mayhem. The characters are also quite charming… for a bunch of low poly models anyway.

I’ve had an extremely busy week this week, but I’ve also downloaded Animal Well. I partner is a big fan of games with lots and lots of secrets, so he finished Animal Well in a week and now it’s my turn to play while he watches and doesn’t give me any hints. I know that’s a good thing, especially with a game that’s all about discovering things, but it can be a little frustrating when I really need a boost. But I have to believe in myself and figure things out! It’s the way (developer) Billy Basso intended it.
I’m also making my way with noodles Fallout 4which is fine, and I bought Baladins, a game I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time.
But mostly I played the new game for a surprise review (a surprise for me, anyway), and I had a pretty good time. Obviously I can’t say much about it yet, other than the fact that the game reminds me of another game that I wasn’t expecting. How cunning of me! I think it will get a good review.
It’s not the Millennium Gate, by the way. I’m still very excited for it to drop soon. PAPERRRRR MARIOOOOOOO!
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Take the following poll with the game you’ll be running over the next few days, then slide into the comments to let us know what other titles are on the cards.
