So first of all, I finished Bayonetta 3. I found it to be… not great, personally. Not compared to the first two games, at least. Still, I’m thankful to have experienced it after such a long development period, even if it didn’t quite meet with my expectations.

Onto better things, then! You all know I love a good horror game, right? Well, this weekend, I’ll be continuing my playthrough of the wonderful Signalis. I’ve only put about half an hour into it so far, but that small chuck of time has already indicated that this is a very special game, so I’m extremely excited to dive back in.

Otherwise, that’s about it! I might start a playthrough of Resident Evil: Village in third-person mode if I have the time, though I’ll probably save that for another day.

This weekend is all about the wild west! I just started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 last week, and I just can’t put it down. The most beautiful and realistic game I’ve EVER played. I fav genre of games is open-world, so I knew I would like this one, but didn’t know I would like it THIS much. Can’t find anything wrong with it thus far. Rockstar is just incredible at creating worlds that feel alive. Around every corner, there’s someone that needs saving or someone who wants to start a fight. I never run out of stuff to do either. Do missions, hunt for bounties, play poker, go out exploring on your horse, this world is MASSIVE (and I’ve only explored a tiny bit of the map so far)! It’s just really rare when a game hooks me this much, but man is it magical when it does.

We are rapidly approaching the 10th anniversary of the Wii U and in my current playthrough, I seem to be the only person left in the world who is using the console as anything other than a doorstop.

I am having friends over this weekend so it seems like the perfect time to get some party play in and see the console really burning on all cylinders. Nintendo Land seems like the obvious place to start, but as a game that I would describe as ‘yeah, it’s alright‘ (stick that on your poster), I hope that we will quickly move onto something better like Wii Sports Club or Mario Party 8.

I have been playing through Twilight Princess HD this week – a Zelda title that I still feel to be horribly overrated – so I may carry on with that a little, though, truth be told, I may just end up getting The Minish Cap on the fantastic Virtual Console and settle into playing a much better Zelda game.

When it rains, it pours. I did not what to be playing both NieR: Automata and Bayonetta 3 at the same time, but here I am, surrounded by PlatinumGames brilliance and little time to fully appreciate both games before the inevitable November deluge begins with Harvestella, and Arkanoid: Eternal Battle already eyeing the Switch cartridge slot. I must also not neglect the outstanding, bug fixed Prodeus, a game that restored my feverish love for the FPS genre.Game of the Week is Sophstar. A shmup that does everything right and dictates how you play it by your ship selection. Simple and complex in equal doses, don’t give it a skip.

I got a Steam Deck for my birthday!!! It’s like a Switch got buff. So, I’ve been putting it to good use and playing the latest games, right? No. I’ve been playing Fallout: New Vegas.

Gaming time has been scarce over the last week or so, so this weekend, I’ll likely be jumping into a bit more Bayonetta 3. I’m enjoying a lot, I just haven’t had the time to really dig into it! I wish I was as self-assured and confident as Bayonetta… and everyone needs a Rodin in their lives.

Otherwise, I don’t have any concrete plans aside from lots of cinema visits! I really want to try Signalis out – I’m a scaredy cat, but pixel art horror sounds like my jam. I’ve also really be craving a Super Mario Odyssey replay, so perhaps I’ll get that rolling. But I also want to play some SNES games – I haven’t played anything old for a while and I’m missing that special feeling I get from a classic SNES game.
