What are you playing this weekend? (October 12)

Jim Norman, staff writer

Did I finish Zelda last weekend? Am I the devil! Instead of polishing off the final dungeon, I reignited my love for worm-based tactics with the excellent Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition for Digital Eclipse. I’ll do my best to put it down this weekend and get back to Hylian work… maybe.

In another place, I returned to my beloved Astro Bot and saved a few more cuties. God, what a game!

I’ll have a few reviews on the go this weekend [REDACTED], [REDACTED]and [REDACTED]so look forward to them very soon.

However, if I manage to find the time, I will sink a few more hours into the beautiful Silent Hill 2 remake by Bloober Team. I can’t believe this game actually exists and is this good. It’s extremely faithful while enhancing the core experience in all the right ways.

I’ve been playing a lot of Super Smash Bros. on Switch recently. Ultimate, so I might try to sneak in a few matches here and there if I can.

I won’t play anything this weekend. NOTHING! Zero. Zilch. Hope. The reason is that my birthday is getting closer, and my new music album, which should be released on that day, is not yet ready. That’s right, it’s crunch time! Don’t put a Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom pad in front of my eyes or anything else that might otherwise distract me from my musical path. At least sleeping over won’t be a problem, because…

The “game” of the week is Alarmo. There better be some updates for F-Zero/StarFox/Metroid soon. I also wouldn’t mind waking up to Fire Emblem’s vocal main theme. For now, Great Fairy… “thoughts” will suffice.

It’s CANADIAN THANKSGIVING this weekend, but I’m not going to let that stop me from desperately trying to get more than a smidgen of fun out of Echoes of Wisdom (which, if you can’t tell, I don’t enjoy). I’m also in the metroidbrainia stage (admittedly a subtle addition to my “genre” feature) and, I’m finally done WitnessI’m looking for more games in the same vein. Maybe the Outer Wilds DLC?

Oh, and I’m working on my brand new game writing gig. I can’t tell you what it is, but I’m SO excited…

Gavin Lane, editor

I really need to buckle down and finish Zelda. I’ve been merrily roaming around, chasing fog, and discovering the entire map while collecting echoes, but I need to start checking some dungeons off the list. Otherwise, I can’t wait to crack Natsu-Mon and polish World of Goo 2 and Can of Wormholes. Realistically? With bathroom faucets to replace, curtains to hang, and a water heater to repair, I’ll only get to one of these games. Haven’t they already invented some sort of sleep substitute in pill form? That would help me damage the backlog a bit. Caffeine doesn’t help.

Have a great time, folks.

I recently started Little Nightmares II as a little palette cleanser Metaphor: ReFantasia fixation. I honestly can’t believe it took me this long to pick up a spooky lil’ platformer, especially since I’m a huge fan of the first one. For some reason, I mistakenly thought the sequel was co-op, and the idea turned me off. But I was wrong! Little Nightmares II is a perfectly spooky little adventure through an incredibly beautiful world.

Oh, and if I can convince a friend, maybe I’ll jump into Monster Hunter Rise too. Anyway, happy gaming, folks!

That’s what we have planned for the weekend, what about you? Let us know in the poll below which games you plan to launch in the next few days.
