Embracer Group, the parent company of THQ Nordic, has purchased Saber Interactive, a development studio behind the ports of games such as March 3: Wild Hunt and Vampyr.
The agreement consists of an initial capital of $ 150m with a gross profit from $ 375m, subject to the fulfillment of the agreed thousand. It also means that Saber Interactive will become the fifth Embracer Group, while Saber's founders, Matthew Karch and Andrey Iones, are the largest shareholders of Embracer Group.
In a press release, Embracer founder and CEO Lars Wingefors shared the following:
"Saber has been on our radar for a very long time because of their deep track record of high quality work. Their pursuit of self-financing projects over the past years has been very impressive, especially in World War Z, which has sold more than 3m units. Embracer Group, we look forward to partnering with them to increase their creative capacity and build the premier titles. "
This is actually the latest in the Embracer Group acquisition list; the company has cooked has acquired 18 strong sports companies over the last four years.
According to a similar press release, Saber Interactive has announced four and eight potential development projects, all of which can now be added to the Embracer Group's portfolio. This year's activities are "largely" driven by "anticipated game releases in the second half of the year".
