The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a huge undertaking for Nintendo, and the company called on a number of development teams to help out. As you may recall, one of those developers was the Xenoblade Chronicles team at Monolith Soft.
Now that Tears of the Kingdom is out, the Japanese company has officially updated their website with a new Switch exclusive. It follows on from the recent release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s “final DLC” last month, as well as his work on Splatoon 3.
According to the rough Google translation of an official tweetMonolith Soft helped with the following parts of Tears of the Kingdom:
“The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” for which Monolith Soft was involved in contract development of game design, programming and graphics, was published by Nintendo Co., Ltd.
Monolith Soft previously announced a “major” expansion for the company back in 2021, with many new roles at that time referencing the latest entry in the Zelda series. In a more recent headcount update earlier this year, the company revealed it has more than 260 employees.
During the Switch’s lifecycle, Monolith Soft also contributed to projects such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Splatoon 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
