The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will feature all kinds of familiar faces, and Nintendo recently profiled one of the classic recurring characters in the series, which has been around for over two decades. Warning, possible sspoilers ahead…
That’s right, without warning, the character we’re talking about here is the one and only Dampé, who originally started out as a graveyard guardian in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He has since appeared in many other Zelda titles, including the Switch remake of Link’s Awakening – where he was responsible for creating the chambers.
It looks like Zelda’s new adventure will see Dampé take on the role of an engineer who can create automatons. These are cheer-like creatures that can unleash their own “unique effects” in the game world. Here’s this returning character in all his glory:
“Automatons created by Engineer Dampé unleash their own unique effects once Zelda activates them!”
Along with the Automatons, Zelda can also call upon Tri (a mysterious fairy) and Tri Rod, which can be used to create echoes (copies of objects, enemies, and other items found in the game’s environment) to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and overcome obstacles. This same object can also be used to connect things.
