In early May, the Zelda-style Mario Maker-style Super Dungeon Maker was released on the Switch eShop.
It didn’t bother us at the time and we thought it still had the potential to become “something great”. With that in mind, developer Firechick has released a new update that includes “fresh” content, changes (including performance and stability improvements), and numerous bug fixes.
Players can look forward to a brand new theme known as Istic Garden, and in addition to performance and stability improvements, there are now faster loading times. You can find a full overview in the patch notes below:
Super Dungeon Maker Update:
New
– We added a new theme: Istic Garden
Changes
– Updated the disclaimer at the start of the game to better reflect the current state of the game
– Improved performance and stability in larger dungeons
– Load times for large dungeons have been improved
– Stair transition has been improved to reduce the possibility of players accidentally retracing their steps
Error corrections
– Loading icons were not visible when scrolling through online dungeons – this has been fixed
– Fixed an issue where players were unable to re-enter a boss room and ended up soft locked after dying in one of the boss fights in pre-existing dungeons
– Dungeon thumbnails will now save correctly, not just when saving a dungeon for the first time
– The map will now display the floor correctly, and opening the pause menu will no longer potentially result in an unresponsive UI screen
– Breakable blocks will now reset correctly when using the hourglass to reset a room
