Update: And just like that, Nintendo has now removed the digital price from the Zelda: TotK store page. Expect a price announcement later. You can see how the page used to look in our story below. In related developments, it appears that GameStop, Best Buy and Amazon updated their playlists and they are no longer taking pre-orders.
Original: Nintendo was incredibly busy last day with their financials and Direct announcement, and on top of that, they also made some updates to their digital storefronts.
Many Nintendo enthusiasts have noticed that the list of official websites for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the US has just been updated. Specifically, the price of the game is now listed as $69.99. On Canadian websitethis price converted into 89.99 CAD. Here’s a look at the US site (via Nintendo.com):
Notably, this is a $10 increase compared to Nintendo else first titles (such as Breath of the Wild) that usually go for $59.99 digitally, and there are retailers that still offer a physical copy of the game for about the same price.
If this is the new digital price and not a mistake, it essentially follows the trend of next-gen platforms and other companies within the gaming industry over the past year that have increased the prices of their own titles.
