Game Developers Conference 2024 announced developers from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Super Mario Bros. Wonder will present speeches at an upcoming conference to be held in between From March 18 to 22.

Tunes of the Kingdom: Development of physics and sounds for ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’

“Programmers from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Realm
talk about structuring an expanded Hyrule around physics-based gameplay and evolved sound design! Join game technical director Takuhiro Dohta, lead physics developer Takahiro Takayama, and lead sound engineer Junya Osada as they explore the challenges their teams faced in approaching this sequel. He will share insights on Link’s new abilities, composing Hyrule’s expanded sound design and music, and how it goes hand-in-hand (Ultra) to create a new experience for players. At the end of Mr. Dohta, Mr. Takayama and Mr. Osada’s speeches, they aim to give participants and gamers everywhere a new perspective on the world Tears of the kingdom and innovation within.”
2D and tomorrow: How the developers of ‘Super Mario Bros. Wonder’ finds new joy in creating classic side-scrolling adventures

“After last year’s launch Super Mario Bros.TM Miracle games, developers Takashi Tezuka and Shiro Mouri discuss the unique challenge of the classic side-scroller Super Mario Bros. of playing and turning upside down…literally. The developers explain how new game elements — such as Marvelous Effects that spin, spin and transform the in-game world of Flower Kingdom — draw inspiration from Mario’s 2D past, but bring unexpected new surprises for players. Mr. Tezuka and Mr. Mouri will also share insights into the game’s creative first steps, how they expanded player choices, and the process of adding a new online experience to the game. Wowie Zowie!”
