The best-selling games for the first half of 2023 in Europe have been revealed (thanks, GamesIndustry), and that’s good news for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Nintendo’s latest entry in the Zelda franchise came in fourth overall, trailing its peers The legacy of Hogwarts at number 1, Diablo 4 in 2nd place, and FIFA 23 in 3rd place. However, it should be noted that Nintendo doesn’t like to share the digital sales of its games, so Zelda’s performance here is based solely on box office sales. In fact, Zelda has been confirmed to be by far the best-selling physical game of the year so far.
Elsewhere, we also have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in 12th place and Nintendo Switch Sports in 18th place. Again, these are based on box sales vs. box sales only and digital sales for other games in the top 20.
It’s probably safe to assume that all three Nintendo titles would be better if we had digital data alongside the physical, but alas. Here are the top 20 in full:
