Gigabyte BRIX Extreme, a powerful compact computer
The first element that stands out from these new systems is the processor. These BRIX Extreme 2022 are based on the Intel Core processors 12th generation, especially in mobile variants. Some processors with heterogeneous cores based on the 10nm manufacturing process. Although no core configuration has been revealed, it has been revealed that they will have frequencies up to 4.7 GHz.
It does not include dedicated graphics, it is based on the integrated graphics in these processors. Specifically, he uses Intel Iris Xe graphics card, which offer very good performance in games. This iGPU has 96 execution units, more than capable of running DirectX 12 games smoothly.
Additionally, this Gigabyte system supports DDR4 RAM memories with a frequency of 3200 MHz and support for Dual Channel. This system also supports an M.2 2280 drive with PCIe 4.0 interface. It also has a built-in TPM module, which provides hardware-level security.
We have two versions of these Gigabyte BRIX Extreme 2022, one called Slim and the other called Tall. This second version, the Tall, is a little taller to accommodate a 2.5-inch SSD/HDD unit.
A high-end solution
The system developed by Gigabyte has two HDMI ports, a USB-C DisplayPort port and a mini-DisplayPort. Note that one of the HDMI ports is of the HDMI 2.1. What this connector allows us is a video output of up to 8K resolution on a monitor or on a television.
Regarding the rest of the connectors, it has a USB-C 3.2 port and two USB-A 3.2 ports on the front, as well as an audio jack connector. In addition, on the back we have two more USB-A ports and a 2.5G Ethernet port. If we want to connect without cables, it offers support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.0.
Gigabyte has also ensured that these BRIX Extreme 2022 have the best possible performance with the lowest possible noise level. For processors with a TDP of up to 45W, a noise level of up to 35dB is obtained. Something that was achieved by optimizing the system’s cooling system.
At the moment, Gigabyte has not revealed the exact date of the launch of the new BRIX Extreme 2022. This system would be launched in the second quarter of 2022 with a price that has not yet been revealed.
